"He loves me... he loves me not... he loves me," she said, tossing a headless stem into the warm summer air. A smile spread slowly across her lips as she fingered one of the smooth, velvet petals that clung to her t-shirt. She knew she couldn't keep plucking petals from daisies forever. The world would run out of the dainty flowers before she ever knew whether he truly loved her or not. But that didn't stop her from ripping another flower from the grass beside her.
